Abstract: Wellness resort is the type of resort where tourists come with the aim to relax, refresh and rejuvenate and to give a break from the modern urban chaotic lifestyle. They are provided with the healthy cuisines along with general cuisines and facilitated with various wellness facilities as an extra choice of luxury. My thesis project is the government proposed project of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) with the aim to promote tourism and to boost the economy in the region. My site is located in the beautiful Satpura range enriched with beautiful flora and fauna in the district of Madhya Pradesh ,Mandla in Village Kirhu Pipariya It is built along the famous Bargi Dam built on Narmada River. My role into the proposed thesis project started with the aim of introducing healing and rejuvenating experience to the users into the space. I started by researching the factors and elements which has a huge role to play in healing and rejuvenation experience from many literature and live case-study,in case studies I further leant how these elements and factors of healing can be utilized well in terms of built and unbuilt spaces of architecture with the aid of Attention Restoration theory which says that exposure to nature is not only enjoyable but can also help us improve our focus and ability to concentrate. ART hypothesizes that nature has the capacity to renew attention after exerting mental energy, Directed attention plays an important role in human information processing; its fatigue, in turn, has far- reaching consequences .Attention Restoration Theory provides ananalysis of the kinds of experiences that lead to recovery from such fatigue. Natural environments turnout to be particularly rich in the characteristics necessary for restorative experiences. This theory is a integrative framework that proposes that both directed attention and stress in the larger context of human-environment relationships. I came with the concept of blending the landscape of the site with the built form by using sustainable technology, locally available materials, climate responsives design and startegies right from the conceptual stage to the final design development.
