The thesis deals with the design of the campus of gemology institute in the city of the Indore – Training Institute for Gems and Jewellery, Indore. The project is a part of the gem and jewellery park (Diamond Park) proposed by Madhya Pradesh Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (Indore) Limited with a vision to advance ''Brand India'' in the worldwide market. Jewellery is one of the oldest forms of body adornment. Its origin is clearly not known but the tradition of wearing ornaments began earlier than wearing garments in prehistoric times. India has consistently had a strong connection with gems and jewellery. In ancient times, the market was generally reliant on demand from the ruling class and nobility. Each region of the nation, thus, had its own jewellery form and style, to a great extent derived from the inclinations of the patrons. Lately, a shift in consumer preferences from traditional to western-style is witnessed due to which traditional jewellery is dying in India. The project aims to develop a design solution that will provide an avenue to expand mindfulness and draw in new youth to the sector by exhibiting career progression opportunities. The project will cater to the students as well as jewellery manufacturers and karigars by providing a common platform for jewellery designing, production, retail, and exhibition. As the design is a cyclic on-going process, that can never terminate at a point, the methodology followed in the project reflects the same. The final design output has been achieved on the basis of the design objectives, relevant case studies, area program, and reading of the site.en_US
