Abstract: The Delhi Metro Museum, known as the South Asia’s first ‘Modern Metro Museum’, is proposed to be constructed at north east Delhi’s Shastri Park and will serve the twin purpose of ‘entertainment and education’. A space of around 12,000 m2 is allocated near Shastri Park metro station, which will be easily accessible from the station itself, which is in close proximity to Delhi IT Park as well. Museums are the nucleus for preserving, conserving, studying and interpreting our cultural heritage. They educate and inspire people using the various exhibits, designs and techniques to portray everything ranging from the past, present and the future. They are considered an epitome of knowledge, which can be conveyed using various techniques and design ideas Metropolitan cities are the magnets and focal points for every person, reasons being employment, facilities, connectivity and many more. Proper functioning of these cities depends majorly on the proper functioning of the transport system, in which many modes are included such as personal vehicles, para-transits, buses, metros, cycling, walking etc. Out of these, the metro is considered one of the most widely used mode of transport in the major metropolitan cities of India, and now their services have also started coming up in developing cities of the country. It can be undoubtedly said that metro is an integral part of our socio-economic development. Metro provides all eminent factors required for easy transportation such as low fares, faster travel, safety & connectivity, their achievements and growth have been worthy of mention and celebration, this is where the Metro Museum comes in. This museum will be providing the ultimate metro experience to daily travellers as well as non-users, it will celebrate and provide a platform for exhibiting all the milestones and achievements. The exhibition design done in such a way that it creates a realistic environment, showcasing all together the past, present and future of Delhi Metro.
