Abstract: By promoting knowledge and raising awareness, education is an essential component for responding to global climate change. Rising sea levels and melting ice caps, severe weather events, drought and flooding with its dramatic and harmful effects on the environment, earth’s climate is changing. Increased interest and the growing recognition in the climate change education has addressed these issues and creates an opportunity to conduct a systematic review to understand how design research can contribute to the idea about effective climate change education. This project, Educational Design Intervention on Climate Change, explores how pop-up book media can be used to create enhanced user experiences in children’s book design. The objective of this project is to communicate the cause, effect and consequences of climate change; for strengthening of educational knowledge for middle school- age children and to know the effectiveness of pop-up book media learning. The method of research is based on Research and Development (R & D) with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. Phase of analysis is done by literature study and interview with the school teacher to the need’s analysis. The design phase included the content writing, the activities of the material exploration, the determination of media design (theme, colors and images). The development phase includes pop-up book on climate change as designed and carried out feedback from the expert validators. In implementation stage, the user testing will be conducted using the developed book to study the response of learners. In the evaluation phase, the successfulness of development of information book with its feedback and changes if required will be evaluated.
