dc.description.abstractThe ecological restoration of Shahdara Drain project focuses on the challenges facing New Delhi and one of India’s sacred rivers, the Yamuna. However, today it is also the most polluted of the world’s main rivers, specifically at its urban transect of New Delhi. Currently, Delhi’s East Bank lacks program, amenities, public open spaces and urban infrastructure. This project aims to draw attention to this neglected side of Delhi. The Shahdara Drain was chosen due to its condition as a barren land of wastewater, sewage, contaminated soil, trash and hazardous smell. The proposal entails solutions to treat the wastewater coming from various smaller drains, designing public recreation spaces and parks while maintaining the busy urban character of the city.en_US
