The Bamboo Training and Technical Centre is an institute dedicated to the propagation of bamboo technology and research. It offers courses at the undergraduate, graduate, research level along with diplomas, summer workshops and short-term training programs. This thesis project revolves around the redesign and planning of Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre (NBRC), Dimapur. Through the project one hopes to encourage the adoption of composite construction techniques of bamboo, in the state. The design tries to recall in the memories of visitors the calm, beauty and simplicity of a traditional Naga village, a time when bamboo was used widely and integrated into their lives. This physical manifestation of the design is achieved through the study of a traditional Naga village as per the guidelines of ‘A Pattern Language’ by Christopher Alexanderen_US
