This thesis intends to answer the question of image ability of the city. Mahal is the historic core of Nagpur, the then walled city. It is the heritage area of Nagpur. This identity is respected by the local people and they value it. But thought the area has high heritage value and also it is the historic fore, the city level people do not respect or value the area. The identity of mahal for city level people is that of chaos, disorder, crowded and also it lacks image ability. So the need for reinforcing the imageability is for city level people.
