Abstract: Groundwater serves to be a reliable source of water for a variety of purposes. It exists in spaces between loose particles of dirt and rock, or in cracks and crevices in rocks. Due to unprecedented growth in the population the requirement of water has increased manifold which is causing stress on the shallow aquifers. Warnings of a groundwater crisis with falling groundwater tables and polluted aquifers have led to calls for urgent management responses. Ground Water Management is a complex proposal as it deals with the interactions between the human society and the physical environment. It is an approach for maintaining a safe, sustainable and high quality groundwater resource.
