Abstract: This thesis focuses on the design and development of a mixed-use skyscraper in India, aiming to revolutionize urban architecture through a sustainable lens. As cities grapple with booming populations and limited land, building upwards becomes crucial. This proposed skyscraper integrates residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, catering to the diverse needs of urban residents. The study begins with a thorough analysis of existing mixed-use skyscrapers worldwide, examining their design, layout, and sustainable features. The research emphasizes the importance of incorporating sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact, maximize energy efficiency, and foster a healthy living environment. Taking into account India's unique cultural, social, and environmental context, the thesis proposes an innovative design for a mixed-use skyscraper tailored to these specific conditions. The architectural concept blends modern aesthetics with traditional Indian elements, ensuring a harmonious integration with its surroundings. Furthermore, the study assesses the social implications of the mixed-use skyscraper, analyzing its impact on community interaction, pedestrian movement, and overall livability. Special emphasis is placed on incorporating public spaces like parks, plazas, and community centers to cultivate social cohesion and create vibrant urban environments. To assess the feasibility and performance of the proposed design, the thesis conducts a comparative analysis of similar projects and utilizes computer simulations and modeling tools to evaluate energy efficiency, structural integrity, and user comfort. The findings contribute to the growing knowledge of sustainable urban architecture and provide valuable insights for architects, urban planners, and policymakers in India. Ultimately, this proposed mixed-use skyscraper aims to inspire future developments that prioritize sustainability, social inclusivity, and aesthetic harmony within the urban fabric.
