dc.description.abstract | This thesis proposes the architectural design of a Neuroharmony Center for Living and Learning in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. The Center aims to foster a nurturing environment that optimizes mental function, supports holistic learning, and promotes a sense of community. The design prioritizes three core principles: neuroharmony, inclusivity, and sustainability. Neuroharmony guides the creation of a stimulating yet calming space. Natural materials, optimized acoustics, and color psychology will be employed to enhance cognitive function and well-being. Inclusivity ensures accessibility and caters to diverse needs. Universal design principles, quiet areas, and a variety of learning and living spaces will be incorporated. Sustainability prioritizes environmental responsibility using sustainable materials, energy-efficient systems, and potential renewable energy sources. The Center functions as a multifaceted hub. It provides a space specifically designed for integrated learning, promoting knowledge retention through biophilic design, and strategically placed natural light. It fosters wellbeing by incorporating features that support relaxation, stress reduction, and healthy movement. Social interaction and collaboration are encouraged through communal areas and potential community gardens, building a strong sense of community within Dehradun. Ultimately, the Neuroharmony Center embodies a vision of integrated learning, holistic well-being, and a sustainable, inclusive community. Through its design and purpose, the Center seeks to empower individuals, cultivate a supportive environment, and contribute to the overall well-being of Dehradun's residents.
