dc.description.abstract“An International Convention Centre is a civic building or group of buildings designed to conduct lectures, conferences, workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions etc.” An International Convention Centre provides a large area and substantial facilities which is often used to cater the tourism growth in the region and wide array of revenues to the private and public sector. Convention centres are typically large buildings with enough space to host public, private, business and social events. Convention centres offers large floor area where several thousand attendees can attend the event at a distinct time. Convention centres are also used for entertainment purposes such as concerts and dance shows. It is also been referred as multi-purpose building. An International Convention Centre caters to delegates representing top expertise in their respective fields and is specially designed aiming to provide a conductive environment for holding conferences , workshops , lectures , panel discussions etc. India is growing economy and thus is increasing tourism. India is competing internationally in all. To cater in this industry India need to develop and provide with the best facility which would be world class. The industry should be able to accommodate different category of clients and deal with local, national and international attendees. India is developing in this area rapidly, there are number of international convention centres coming up. The quality of services is being improvised with every new proposal. Proposal of an international convention centre is an example of developing India. It is first of its kind coming up in town of Bodhgaya which has its mark on world heritage. It is one of most awaited and ambitious project Abstract International Convention Centre, Bodhgaya iii coming up in Bihar. As Bodhgaya is one of pilgrimage site for Buddhist followers, the proposal should be integrating with the cultural fabric. The setting up of the convention centre would be a great attraction in direction of tourism all over world. As the project is proposed by Magadh University for exposure of students, it would be an opportunity for the students to interact with national and international professionals. This design proposal has its focus on keeping alive the spirit of place along with the modern requirement of a convention centre in way amalgamating the cultural fabric with the modern technology.en_US
