The thesis deals with the design of the campus of a design institute in the city of Kurukshetra – National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra. An Institute of Design offers design education to the young generation developing them into Design Professionals. The project aims to develop a design solution which tries to interpret the way institutes are designed in India, following a student-centric approach. It is an attempt to/looks to design spaces that create a world class learning environment by understanding the psyche of students and faculties, where both can enjoy designing. The project also seeks to work on spaces that should be designed artistically and inspire people to design. The major challenge in the project was the climate of Kurukshetra. It is hot most of the year and the need for a climate responsive design is felt. Pedestrianization of the campus has been chosen as the advanced objective.en_US
