Abstract: The Thesis project here provides a vision of the various stages involved in the process of designing the Guwahati Habitat Center. The project is a live proposal made by Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority located on the old central jail land at Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati. Being an eminent project of the state to boost the social, cultural, economic, institutional needs through the project the Habitat center model, relevant case studies have been conducted to understand the functional and aesthetic aspects. Site analysis has been conducted for the deep understanding of the site constraints, opportunities and possibilities for generating a better output for the project. The project considering the various needs through the proposal the geographical, climatic, demographic and socio-cultural values of the region has been well studied and analyzed to promote the functionality of the project. The Thesis involves an overall architectural designing of the site from the site planning stage, analyzing, zoning, site development to the final design consideration for plans sections, elevations, 3D modeling and presentation of expected result and a comprehensive report of complete thesis.
