Abstract: This thesis aims landscape design measures and its reflection on the university campus landscape. Millions of people live and work on college campuses every day. The environment they dwell and interact with is essential to their quality of life and health. The campus landscape is of great importance to millions of students, faculty, and staff on campus. The level of stress that many students feel is likely to result in decreased academic performance and increased levels of inappropriate behaviours in classrooms and on school campuses. Research say view and use of landscapes can help students recover from the stress. Students benefit academically, socially, and behaviourally from campuses with landscape features and greener window views. This project presents an unconventional approach to an innovative design process. The thesis relates the challenges of adapting to the designers work and approach. This thesis is based on four qualities: These qualities are: Physical qualities, ecological qualities, individual use qualities and social qualities. It integrates environmental and social sustainability through landscape design approach. Successfully designed campuses help to balance university’s academic, research and service missions with its educational services and raise learning performances. The result is an outdoor space that is both a part of campus which has led to an increase of use and greater interaction between the campus and its user. The design process promotes landscape and outdoor space as the organising structure for campus places that will serve students, faculty and staff. The design concept was to integrate existing architect proposal with new design by eliminating various circulation barriers and enhancing its relationship to architecture of the campus in contemporary style. At the end of this study, two main components determining the campus s quality: (i) qualities of the physical environment(climatic features, location of plaza, its relation with the surrounding structuring, pedestrian / vehicle relation in terms of accessibility, fixed elements / equipment in the area, quality of open space area) (ii) user characteristics. User characteristics also comprised two quality criteria: (i) the behavioural and functional quality, (ii) the visual quality.
