Abstract: The main concern for all major metropolises is their growing population. High rise structures have been one of the architectural solution to this problem. As cities grow denser, the high rise as a building type becomes more essential. The rise of the high rise have been due to economic condition along with technological innovations. High rise buildings are important because of scarcity of land that is more and more population and less and less built up area. However today's monuments i.e. high buildings, symbolize power, richness, prestige, and glory. This architectural thesis attempts at designing a Iconic mixed use highrise as a part proposal of the 70 acre of development by DDA and NBCC. As a part of a pilot TOD project the site comes under the 100m influence zone to the Metro Corridor. A mix use scheme with commercial, office service apartment and hotel are the major functions to be catered to.
